Collective Haul!

I just finished my first wedding gig last Saturday. It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony where you just felt love in the air. The days preceding Saturday were spent going around and trying to complete my kit.

Here are a few things which I added to my kit at the last minute:

Inside My Kit Part 2

Here's part 2 of a peek inside my kit! :) In my last post I showed you my Zuca, my prep pouch and my cheek stuff. Let's continue..

Inside My Kit Part 1

About a week ago, the boyfriend gave me a Zuca Pro Artist bag available at Purbeauty in Serendra.

I promised I would show you guys how I pack it for a gig and since I had a Trial Makeup gig last week I was able to organize everything to my liking! :) I'll be posting photos on how I organize my kit and I decided to include photos of the makeup I use on clients.

Maquillage Professionel Graduation :)

After 13 days of intensive lessons and hands on exercises I finally got my Certificate! :) I feel so blessed to have started 2012 doing what I love and what I'm passionate about! We started on January 2 and ended on January 18.

Maquillage Professionel Day 13: Practice Any Look

For our last day we had the chance to practice any look we wanted so I decided to do a late afternoon/night bridal look.

Maquillage Professionel Day 11: Audibiche Eyes

For day 11 of Maquillage Professionel module 1, we did audibiche eyes which is a french method of doing avant garde eye makeup. It's inspired by Brigitte Bardot a french actress/model/singer.

Here's my version! This is Teacher Leah, she was kind enough to model for me. This look's goal is to make the model's eyes look bigger and brighter.

Maquillage Professionel Day 10: Bridal Makeup (Arabian Inspired)

I didn't have a model lined up for my 10th daw with Maquillage Professionel so I asked mom to model for me. We did a themed bridal look for an evening wedding.

Maquillage Professionel Day 9: Bridal Makeup (Day)

I looooooove doing bridal makeup!! The key is to enhance the client’s features without changing their faces!
I want to thank Karen for being my model today even if it’s her birthday! I had a good time. I just really need to practice doing eyebrows freehand!!! HAHA.

Maquillage Professionel Day 8: Colored Photography

I’m on my 8th day, we took up makeup for colored photography usually for billboards, editorials or ads.
We had the choice to do natural, nude, colorful smokey eyes, high fashion or avant guarde. I don’t know what I exactly went with but I’m super sure it wasn’t nude or natural! HAHAHA!

Maquillage Professionel Day 7: Makeup for Black & White Photography

For my 7th day, we had to do a look for black and white photography. We had to make a really dark eye look, super contoured face and a nude lip. My model today was Ms. Reena, my cousin’s boss. It was pretty challenging because she had hooded and droopy eyes. I honestly think I did pretty well. :)

Maquillage Professionel Day 6: Smokey Eyes

I've been trying to do the perfect smokey eye on myself for the longest time and during Day 6 of my classes at Maquillage Professionel I finally figured out what I was doing wrong!

I wasn't blending according to my eye shape! Our lesson back in Day 3 was really helpful in determining what type of smokey eye you have to choose. I'll do a separate post on the proper smokey eye soon.

Maquillage Professionel Day 5: Maquillage du Soir/Night Makeup

On our 5th day of class we had to do Maquillage du Soir or Night makeup. This look did not mean we had to choose dark colors and make them smokey. It was about choosing vibrant colors which stand out in the dark.

Maquillage Professionel Day 3: Facial Balance, Eye Shape Correction and Eyebrow Correction

This is Ana, she modeled for me for Day 3 we took up Facial Balance, Eye Shape Correction and Eyebrow Correction.
It was her birthday so she was all dressed up and in her awesome nude pumps. I was so nervous to do her makeup because she was my first non-relative/friend model.

Maquillage Professionel Manila

I enrolled in Maquillage Professionel Manila last December and I started my classes on January 2, 2012.

I took Module 1 which is a 13-day course designed to introduce makeup enthusiasts or aspiring makeup artists to the different branches of professional makeup.

During days 1, 2 and 3 the instructors taught us the different techniques we needed to master to be able to achieve almost any look.

Day 1 was about cleansing, toning, applying the appropriate primers, correctors, foundation and powders to create the perfect canvass for our makeup.  Day 2 we talked about how to correct eyebrows and contour the face. And on Day 3 we continued took up eye shape correction and face shape correction.

Hello!

I’ve been planning to start a beauty blog for the longest time and because I’ve been studying at Maquillage Professionel these first few weeks of January (my last day is on Wednesday next week) I’ve decided to write my first post today!
So where to start..I guess I’ll just start with the basics, my name is Pauline and I graduated from Ateneo last 2010 with a degree in Psychology. I’ve been working in the family business ever since. I do a little bit of everything from Human Resources to Marketing and to Sales. I really enjoy working for the business because I know that what I do really matters.
I started wearing makeup when I was in college. I learned from watching my mom and later on from youtube (I love the pixiwoo sisters and Lisa Eldridge). I never had formal training so I relied on youtube videos, books and beauty articles. Later on I started to do makeup for friends and family.
Late last year the opportunity to take formal lessons came up so I took it and I ran with it. I just fell in love. I am constantly amazed how little it takes to make a person look their best.
I’m starting this blog just to document my growth as a make up artist so one day I can look back and see how it all started.
I’ll post reviews of the things I use, before and after transformations, tips and tricks and probably pictures of my cat.
Stay tuned,
Pauline
