Review: MAC Lipstick in House Wine

Hey Loves,

I'm back after a whole month of not blogging! I was really busy with my day job (www.paloalto.ph) and didn't really have the time to write! I've been pretty active on instagram though so if you have the time, please do follow me @paulineylaya for outfit of the day and face of the day posts!

That being said, let's jump right into today's review!

I've been on a lipstick shopping spree last month so one of the lipsticks that I've picked up is MAC's Lustre lipstick in House Wine. I'd describe it as a sheer, glossy, very wearable red.

Bride: Raissa + Arnie SDE 6.9.12

Raissa found me online. We talked on the phone a few times and she decided to trust me to do her makeup for her wedding.

The only request she had was to contour her "siopao cheeks" as much as possible. Since I've never seen her prior to the trial/prenup shoot day I was surprised to find that the "siopao cheeks" that she was so concerned about wasn't really a big deal. (Note: If you do have siopao cheeks, be THANKFUL! because when you turn 60-onwards, you'll still look youthful!)

Bride: Varlene + Rommel 6.27.12

I met Varlene at the Bridal Fair in Festival Mall a few months before her wedding. We did her trial makeup there and I also got the chance to meet her mom. We weren't sure if she was acidic (foundation reacts with the skin making the foundation darker) or not so i decided to go with her natural skin tone which actually turned out to be a mistake! She later told me that her face became darker so I made sure to remember that for her wedding.

Dear (imaginary) Readers,

I apologize for not blogging as much last June. It was such a busy month for me make-up wise. I had 2 weddings and two Make Up Forever events plus "real life" work was pretty hectic as well! :))

One of my favorite Make Up Forever gigs to date was the Mrs. Philippines Globe 2012. We met the ladies on June 21 and we kinda bonded with our candidates so we ended up doing their makeup for the following events.

How To: Depot Mac Eyeshadows

Hallloooo! :) Today I'll show you how I depotted the MAC eyeshadows I got in Singapore! I decided to do this today because I just bought an empty MAC palette haha! Plus having to open everything one at a time during gigs is such a hassle! So lets get started!

This was shot May 16, 2012 at Bonifacio Highstreet on probably the hottest/sunniest days in Manila! :)) Nonetheless, I loved it. I came prepared this time! I slathered on SPF 75, covered up and brought my umbrella! :)) Here are some behind the scene photos!

BTS: L Time Studios Photoshoot Day 1

Last May 15 I had the pleasure of working with David Guison and Joyce Pring for L Time Studio's June/July Campaign. We had the shoot around Bonifacio Highstreet. It was such a hot day so I had to do lots of retouching and blotting. The heros of the day were Makeup Forever's Mat Velvet+, Nurturing Force's HD Primer and Skindinavia's Oil Control Setting Spray!!

Here are some of the photos taken during my debut gig a few months ago. I had a blast doing hair and makeup for Lordan and her sister! The celebration was held in Los Banos which was pretty far but luckily I got there just in time.

Fashion: I'm back!!! :)) + MOODS: SoFA CHARITY FASHION SHOW

I feel terrible for neglecting my blog for almost a month! I blame real life for that! :) I've been so busy with the family business Palo Alto Bed & Breakfast in Puerto Princesa Palawan for the past 3 weeks or so.

Anyway! I'm hoping I get to post more often now!! As soon as I got back I did a fashion show with Maquillage Professionel and Make Up Forever which sponsored a charity fashion show with the School of Fashion and the Arts.
